Summer Morning (nudity)

Something nice to look at now that summer's on its way. I used a ref for the girl (see address below). Many thanks to Marcus Ranum for his gorgeous stock photos. The rest came from my head although I looked at some Bouguereaus just to get a 'feel ' for a classic style of painting. I loved painting this and I think I learned quite a lot along the way. About 16 hours spent using photoshop and wacom.

What She Saw

Sorry about the depressing picture, it just got gloomier and gloomier as I went along! This girl was in my imagination and almost demanded to be painted and I'm sure there is a story here somewhere. Anyhow she's obviously seen and done some bad things.

All done in photoshop over about 8 hours. No refs used.

Thanks for looking

for which many thanks go to the talented Lindsay Archer.

I really wanted to paint it and to try a more painterly style...for me. I more or less copied the image but no too obsessively. No overpainting or colour picking was involved. It took me around 8 hours I guess, which is quite quick for me.

Thanks for looking,

This started as yet another doodle and grew into a wintry theme.
Painted in Photoshop 7 with Wacom. I fiddled with the picture over several days so I'm not sure how many hours I spent altogether.

Belated Happy Christmas to you all and a peaceful New Year.

Autumn

The autumn is very colourful this year in the south of England and as I live in the middle of the woods I am surrounded by beautiful leaves. I guess this is what inspired me.
I used photoshop and wacom and completed this over the space of a week or so.
I used just one photo ref http://xstockx.deviantart.com/art/xstockx-green2-34142002
for which many thanks go to Julie

Anne's Necklace

Hi everyone,

I wanted to paint this after reading a book about Elizabeth 1. Anne Boleyn was her mother and Henry VIII's second wife. Anne was beheaded by King Henry when she was still young, accused of having affairs with several young men. She was beautiful, intelligent and ambitious.

This was painted in Photoshop with a Wacom over about two days with only an orginal portrait of Anne Boleyn as an initial inspiration. Many thanks for looking.

(BTW it was awful!!) Looking back on it I realised I had learnt so much from you guys over the last year, and I hope improved, that I went back to it and fiddled till I got fed up with it! There really is no story to the picture, but it would be cool if the picture suggested a story to you.
It's difficult to say how long it took but I worked on it off and on for about 3 days.
All done in Photoshop with Wacom using "googled" refs for the insects.
Another face!!! I hope I'm improving thanks to your valued comments on previous posts.
I used a very old and rather out of focus photo of my daughter as a ref to begin with. It hasn't ended up looking like her at all, but a portrait wasn't my intention. She was only about 11 when the photo was taken (I would show you the ref photo but she would kill me as she's at that tricky teen age now!) Should tell you this took about 7 hours all in all working in photoshop with a wacom tablet. I would very much appreciate your comments.

Many thanks for looking
